TECHNICAL SUPPPORT

When do the courses begin?

You can begin at any time. The course material will be released to you each week during the six week program. After six weeks from your registration date you will have access to all of the material. This is a self-paced course, and you will have ongoing access to the material.

What browser should I use?

We strongly recommend using Safari, Firefox, or Chrome as your default browser for Save Your Brain: The Six-Week Rescue Plan. Internet Explorer will not give you the best user experience. Use the most up-to-date version of your preferred browser.

What type of internet connection is best for the course?

Broadband or DSL connection is fastest. Please note: if you are using a smartphone or tablet to watch videos or listen to audios, make sure you are connected to WIFI as you will be streaming data and could incur data charges if not connected to WIFI. The best way to access the material on mobile devices is to download materials to your computer or laptop and sync to your mobile devices. Your computer manufacturer will have instructions on how to coordinate content between PCs and Mobile.

What is the best way to view the pdf workbooks?

Before watching each video, we recommend looking at each chapter workbook as the first step for each chapter.

Regardless of what computer, operating system, or browser you are using, our PDFs work best with the free application Adobe Reader. While some computers are set-up to open a downloaded PDF
in Preview, this program doesn’t work the best! If you open the PDFs in some web browsers, you won’t be able to save your work that way; so, best practice is to download them (save them) to your computer, or print them and fill them out.

Download instructions are located at the bottom of this FAQ page.

Can I use smartphones, tablets, and laptops for the course?

The Save Your Brain course is optimized for standard desktop and laptop computers. All content including webpages, video, and audio is accessible on all devices but saving downloads is not possible directly to smartphones and tablets. (Check manufacturer instructions for syncing on your device).

The Save Your Brain course is designed to be accessed from one browser or device at a time. Please don’t try to have the website open on your laptop, your smartphone, and your tablet all at once. Logout when you’re done or when moving from one device to another.

Only open the Save Your Brain course in one browser at a time. Before you close your browser window, select the logout link in the bottom left corner under the navigation menu. This will prevent issues when logging back on a different device.

What's the quickest way to solve a technical problem?

Many technical problems can be easily corrected by simply restarting your computer, or in extreme circumstances, by clearing your browser cache. You can search the internet on how to clear your cache, but you will NOT need other programs to do that.

What if I get totally stuck on a technical problem?

If you need further support, email us at techsupport@drknews.com. You should receive a reply within 24 hours.

I’m having trouble viewing the videos. What should I do?

First, double check that the content for the week has started by checking the schedule HERE. Otherwise it is likely a login or logout issue. Take the following steps:

1. Log out in the upper left corner of the course, then log back in with your username and password. This will refresh access; If not, try #2.

2. Restart your browser. We highly recommend using Safari, Firefox, or Chrome.

If these steps don’t work, email us at techsupport@drknews.com and we’ll get an answer.

I can’t get to new content in the course. Help!

Introduction and Week One are available immediately after you subscribe, Week Two is available 7 days after you subscribe, Week Three is available 14 days after you subscribe, etc.

If the content is available but you’re still seeing that message, please try logging out, clearing your browser’s cache, and logging back in. If you are still having trouble, email us at techsupport@drknews.com.

I'm having trouble reading some of the charts on the videos. What can i do?

Throughout the course it is highly recommended or mandatory that you download the Workbook (pdf). That will insure that you can follow along and be able to read detailed diagrams which are too detailed or unclear in some of the videos.  To view the workbook, please print, open in Adobe Reader, OR open the pdf in a new tab of your browser. You can adjust resolution of the video in the bottom right of the player. You can also watch videos full screen by selecting full screen icon in bottom right of the video player. Plus, you can watch videos on the chapter discussion pages which feature an embedded video player for larger playback on a desktop computer or large laptop. See FAQs for more information.

Summary:

1) You can adjust resolution of the video in the bottom right of the player. You can also watch the videos full screen by clicking the full screen icon in bottom left of video player.

2) The charts/diagrams of each chapter are available are available in the workbooks for each chapter. Download workbook and print it out.

3) You can also open the workbook in a new tab by clicking workbook. And by switching between tabs you can listen/watch video and follow along in the workbook where appropriate.

Dr. Kharrazian talks very fast sometimes. Is there a better way to understand what he is saying or to slow the video playback?

There are two options. Best way is to open the video transcripts (from the transcripts button on chapter page) and follow along with his talking. Another option, if you download the video to your personal computer, you can slow down the video/audio by holding depressing the K and L keys at the same time while the video is playing in Quicktime Player. For Windows Media Player, see instructions here. Please note: In Quicktime Player, keys other than K-L may affect playback in other ways, but when you release the keys, playback should return to normal. This slow motion shortcut is not available in the pop-up video windows or the embedded videos of the chapter pages.

ABOUT PDF DOWNLOADS

What's the best way to fill out the workbooks?

Before watching each video, we recommend looking at each chapter workbook as the first step for each chapter.

VIEW THE WORKBOOK. Click the orange Workbook button to view the PDF in any modern browser. The Workbook PDF will open in a new tab or window and can be viewed during video playback by switching between tabs. If you are unable to view the pdf, you may need a PDF extension or add-on for your particular browser (use browser help in your computer menu).

DOWNLOAD THE PDF. Make sure you have the up-to-date PDF reader on your computer or device. We recommend Adobe Reader (download free here). Download each chapter’s workbook: Right click for PC, control click for Mac to save as or download to your computer’s hard drive.

FILLING IT IN ONLINE. This Workbook is interactive, which means you can answer questions right into the document and save your changes to the document somewhere on your computer. IMPORTANT NOTE – If you want to do a fast confirmation that everything is working correctly, type a few words into a field, hit save or export (under file in the computer menu), close the PDF, and then reopen to check that your work has officially saved. Workbook answers and notes are not transmitted over the internet when entered into the pdf, so your information is confidential.

PRINT IT OUT. This is our recommended method, and the safest way to prevent the loss of your infomation.  Print directly from browser or download to your computer and print.
